Dear Reader,

Industrial components rarely exist as stand-alone parts today. More often, they are part of complex assemblies involving different geometries, materials, and manufacturing requirements.

In this edition, we show how we support development projects at MeKo from prototype to production and how our laser manufacturing capabilities handle a wide range of component geometries. We also invite you to meet us in person in 2026.

Best regards,

Jakob Dohse, Sebastian Wandel and Olaf Bittner

Precision Across Complex Geometries
3D and Tube Laser Cutting

Many industrial assemblies consist of components with very different geometries. In addition to sheet metal parts, this often includes tubes, profiles, and three-dimensional components.

At MeKo, we therefore process not only sheet metal but also tubes and complex 3D geometries using high-precision laser technology. This allows us to manufacture components for assemblies or complete systems with maximum flexibility.

We cut round tubes, square tubes, rectangular tubes, and various profile shapes in a wide range of materials.

Cut dimensions

Our capabilities include:

  • a) cuts concentric to the tube axis
  • b) eccentric angles
  • c) holes and openings perpendicular to the tube surface
  • d) holes and openings at defined angles

We process tube diameters from 0.5 mm up to 200 mm and support both prototype builds and production volumes.

For complex three-dimensional components, we also operate a 5-axis laser system. With it, we precisely cut and weld components such as deep-drawn parts, housings, and tube assemblies. The working area is 2,600 × 1,100 × 700 mm, with a maximum component diameter of 260 mm.

Turning Prototypes into Production Parts
Rapid Prototyping and Tooling

Many projects start with prototypes. Designs evolve, functions are tested, and manufacturing processes are refined step by step.

At MeKo, we actively support this development phase. Through rapid prototyping and in-house tooling, we help move projects from the first part to stable production.

Rapid Prototyping

Using 3D printing, we quickly produce fixtures, clamping devices, and functional prototypes. This allows components to be tested early and design adjustments to be implemented quickly.

At the same time, we develop project-specific tooling and manufacturing aids. These ensure repeatable processes already during development and form the foundation for efficient production later on.

Our teams bring over 30 years of manufacturing experience and deep know-how from numerous custom projects. We do more than manufacture parts. We work with you to refine designs and help move products toward reliable series production.

Meet Us in 2026

Exchanging ideas with end users, machine builders, development teams, and technology partners is an important part of how we develop new solutions. We would therefore like to invite you to visit us at one of the following events.

FILTECH in June 26 is widely recognized as the world’s leading exhibition for filtration and separation, bringing together manufacturers, system builders, and end users from many industries.

At MeKo booth #L21 in Hall 7, we will showcase examples of high-precision laser-manufactured sieve and filter structures with hole and slot geometries ranging from 50 µm up to several millimeters. Our engineers will be available to review your component geometries, discuss possible manufacturing approaches, and identify potential limitations. For demanding applications, we often develop initial solution concepts together on the spot.

Filtech 2024

Feel free to bring your current projects, ideas, or technical challenges. We look forward to discussing them with you.
