Automation at MeKo

Automation has evolved into a natural part of how we manufacture at MeKo. It streamlines routine steps, keeps processes steady, and helps our team focus on the parts of production where experience and human judgement matter most.

For our customers, the impact is tangible: smoother production flow, more predictable process times, and clearer quality evaluations supported by automated measurements and imaging. This stability becomes particularly valuable when scaling from prototypes to series production.

From Melts to Medical Devices

Advancing our Resoloy® Foundry

Built in December 2023, our magnesium foundry has progressed rapidly — and today, it forms the foundation for resorbable, high quality magnesium materials tailored to our customers’ needs. Together with selected manufacturing partners, we cover the entire chain from alloy development to high precision semi finished products such as tubes, sheets, extrusions, and wires.

Each melt undergoes rapid in house chemical analysis and detailed metallographic evaluation, allowing us to verify material composition and microstructure early in the process. By fine tuning alloy composition and casting parameters, we can optimize purity and mechanical properties to meet the requirements of different device concepts.

Resoloy® microstructure as cast with 50 µm, extruded with 6 µm an as a tube with 3 µm grain size (LTR).

Once the alloy and material properties are achieved, we can continue processing in house — cutting stents, fabricating scaffolds, or manufacturing other implant components directly from these customized magnesium materials.

Trade Shows 2025 and 2026

Personal exchange often makes all the difference, and while not everyone can visit us on-site, we do our best to bring MeKo closer to you throughout the year. In 2025, we were present at over 20 international MedTech tradeshows — sometimes with our own booth, sometimes as guests or speakers, but always with the goal of staying close to our customers and the developments shaping the industry.

Across the world, these events gave us the opportunity to discuss new projects face to face, gather valuable insights from our community, and showcase sample parts that sparked many technical conversations. Whether it was early stage feasibility questions or detailed engineering challenges, we truly appreciated every exchange.

Our event calendar for 2026 is already filling up, and we look forward to continuing these conversations in the new year. We hope to meet you at one of the upcoming events — whether on‑site or abroad.
