- The early days
How IT All Started
In May 1991, Clemens Meyer-Kobbe started MeKo as a one-man business.
The laser job shop was located in a garage,
about 10 kilometers south of Hannover, Germany.
- Our first CO2 laser machine
Our First Machines
Our first machine was a 300 W Nd:YAG laser. And in 1992, we purchased a used 500 W CO2 laser.
- First stents
First Stent
From the very beginning, MeKo has been focusing on special applications and difficult parts.
In 1995 MeKo started laser cutting stents as one of the first companies worldwide.
- new building
Our Own Building
MeKo moved to its own, new building with a floor size of 1,500 m2.

- The 1 st expansion of our facility
First Facility Expansion
To increase the space for machines, labs and offices the size of the company had to be expanded to 3100 m2.
- clean rooms
Clean Rooms
Two clean rooms, class 10.000 and 100.000 are ready to use.
The controlled environment of these rooms fulfills highest requirements as far as the cleanness of our products is concerned.
- 2nd expansion
Second Facility Expansion
Through the next expansion MeKo increased in size to 7,800 sq.m..
Still at the same location, the new main entrance moved to the other side of the building. Therefore, the address had to be changed again:
